Activating/deactivating licenses for systems in a close network
Hi guys,
We are running in our organization some NX Witness servers (all have at this moment 6.1.0.42176 version) and because the company that sold us a lot of licenses doesn't want to help us with reactivation for another HW ID we thought that we can find a solution to connect to your licensing server. (we use a close network - normally no direct way to www)
One of my colleague created this https://github.com/xorpaul/connect-tunnel , I can activate with it a free license but I need to deactivate a lot of them to transfer to a new server and the button for deactivation doesn't appear.
We need this story with activation and deactivation because we started with another architecture in our minds and now we want to use an architecture based on VMS. Also as base OS we use Ubuntu.
I hope you can help me or at least you can give me a good advice.
Best regards,
Lucian Todor

I do not need anymore an answer. I resolved it. I needed the admin account to deactivate the licenses(with power user is not working). But I also believe the script can help in future another colleagues.

Hi Lucian Todor,
I’m glad to hear you were able to confirm that an administrator account is required for license deactivations.
At the same time, I’m sorry to learn about the difficulties you’re experiencing with your reseller. To help us look into this further, could you let me know if they are one of our Authorized Nx Resellers?
Based on the location listed on your colleague’s GitHub profile (Germany), here are our Authorized Nx Resellers in the DACH region who should be able to assist you with your licensing requests.
Additionally, if you have a large number of licenses to process, I previously created a script that allows you to activate them all at once in bulk. You can access it HERE.
Please let me know if you need any further assistance!
Best regards.
