Does Wave support 2 way audio to multiple speaker devices live simultaneously?
AnsweredDoes Nx Witness (Wisenet Wave in my case) support broadcasting live audio from a microphone connected to a work station (or mobile app) to multiple network speaker devices?
I have a client that wants an intercom function to multiple buildings. We already have the network infrastructure for all the cameras with a central server. I was planning to install 10-12 Hanwha IP speakers in each building and set all cameras in each building to play live voice to all speakers simultaneously when the microphone button is pressed on the Wave client.
Currently in camera settings it looks like I can only choose one auto device for output from a camera.
Is there a way to accomplish what I want with just adding IP speakers to the Wave VMS? Speaker grouping of some sort?
Latest version of Wave will be used at time of implementation. Wave is running on Windows Server 2026

HI Calvin Wientjes,
Because Nx Witness handles 2-way audio on a 1:1 device binding basis, the VMS itself cannot natively split a single live audio stream across multiple independent camera audio outputs simultaneously.
To broadcast live voice from the Nx Desktop Client or Nx Mobile app to all 10–12 speakers at once per building, you must handle the multi-device routing at the speaker/network level rather than inside Nx Witness.
1. Set Up Speaker Grouping
- Log into the Web UI of the primary Hanwha IP speaker.
- Configure a Speaker Group / Multicast Group in the speaker's settings, adding the remaining peakers in that building as secondary devices.
- Repeat this process for each speaker to establish dedicated speaker groups for each location.
2. Bind the Primary Speaker to Nx Witness
- Add the Primary Speaker as to the VMS.
- In camera/device settings, enable 2-Way Audio and route audio output to the Primary Speaker.
- When an operator presses the microphone button on the Nx client (Desktop or Mobile) for that Primary Speaker, Nx sends the unicast live voice stream directly to the Primary Speaker.
- The Primary Speaker immediately re-broadcasts the audio stream to all Secondary speakers in the group.
Alternative:
- Soft Triggers for Pre-Recorded Messages: If operators only need to play warning announcements (e.g., "Attention, building evacuation in progress"), you can set up Soft Triggers in Nx to broadcast the audio directly to the IP speakers' built-in audio file player, of use an HTTP trigger to broadcast the audio file that exists on the Speakers.
Best regards.
