    Hi @...,

The logic behind the motion detection is an algorithm that combines multiple requirements:

    • Contrast of the moving object
    • Volume of the moving object

Since these are variables that are depending on the field of view, point of view and light levels, it is close to impossible to give some guidance that is useful, since these variables are different for each camera.

I'll ask our technical writer if they can create a more detailed description of the motion detection algorithm, but in general, motion detection is used to reduce storage, while false positives are accepted.

If false positives aren't acceptable, better solutions should be used like 3rd party (in-camera) analytics, AI based applications or, the most reliable option, physical PIR and/or laser and/or radar detectors.

    Hi, Norman

    Thank you for your answer.
I see.. Yeah, I got a rough outline.

Also, I understand that the basic usage is to reduce the amount of stored data.

Yes, I would like you to tell me mainly about sensitivity numbers and how to use them if there is something like a use case.

    Thank you,
    Kai
