Barco NGS-D320 h264 encoder rtsp streaming problem
AnsweredHi Everybody,
I want to ask a question about the Barco h264 encoder. I have just sending the device information as the link. https://www.barco.com/en/product/ngs-d320-pro#services
We are trying to take a rtsp stream from that device, but we can not manage it.
We are using Barco's rtsp link in the VLC player to take the stream. It shows rtsp display without any problem. Also Bosch VMS shows the same stream display, there is no problem. However we can not take the rtsp display from the nx client.
Here is the codec information from the rtsp display of VLC player,

Here is the statistics from the rtsp display of VLC player,

The pictures below is from the nx display which is not showing the rtsp stream that comes from Barco encoder,

Also we have taken the diagnostic information that NX connected to the devices rtsp link.

Confirming server availability.
OK
Confirming camera is accessible.
OK
Confirming target camera provides media stream.
OK
Evaluating media stream for errors.
OK
Diagnostics complete
Could you help us about it. Why we can not get the rtsp display?
Thanks.

Hello Ali Ergin Hacimahmutoglu,
Please follow the below instructions to perform basic troubleshooting and provide more information with us.
1. The software version of the Nx Server
The latest Nx Witness version is 4.2.0, if your Nx Witness is not running the latest version, you could first try to update the Nx Witness to the latest release.
Check: https://my.networkoptix.com/#/download2. Collect the server DEBUG log
2-a. Remove the RTSP stream from your server.
2-b. Follow this support ARTICLE to set the server log level to DEBUG
2-c. Add the RTSP stream again.
2-d. Collect and share the DEBUG log with us.0 -

Hi Ali,
Roman is unavailable till at least Wednesday.
I checked the Debug log on my phone, but it seems like the device doesn't response for multiple seconds on stream requests. Is it possible to provide access through port forwarding for further investigation?
If so, please let me know, and I'll convert this topic into a support ticket so you can share the external IP address, ports, and credentials privately.

The RTSP standard RFC2326 isn't honored by the device. After the RTSP PLAY command and the HTTP 200 OK reply, the device does not start providing the video stream and after ~10 seconds the server sends a TEARDOWN as expected en eventually the connection will be reset (RST).
The issue was resolved by loading new firmware from Barco.
We are going to assume your question has been answered and set this topic to 'Answered'.
