12TB SAS disk
CompletedHi this is Kevin from CCTV integrator in Australia, and I am helping an end-user to build a new NX witness server which will be a second server for a large factory.
At the moment, there are 97 Hi-res Hikvision cameras on-site, and there are many HDD speed issues in the event. I am thinking of using a Dell R540 with twelve 12TB SAS disks storage disks, but someone told me there will be an issue if I choose to use12TB disks, could anyone tell me if that is the case?
Thanks

Hi Kevin HUANG,
Feel free to buy as much hardware as you like, but can't the HDD speed issues not be resolved?
Sometimes, we can increase a buffer to give the storage some more time to process the data, sometimes it is just a matter of adding a disk to spread the load. Can you tell me more about your current system?
You wrote you have 97 cameras. How much bandwidth do these generate?
You can see this in the Server Setting menu, tab Storage Analytics. How many drives are available for the storage?
What brands, models, and size are these drives? Are these drives in the server or an external storage like a NAS?
