    Hi Kyle Campbell,

Ubuntu 26.04 LTS is expected to be supported in the next major release (v6.2), and we try to provide it earlier in a 6.1.x release. Please keep an eye on the Release Notes for the formal announcement.

    With kind regards.

Kyle Campbell  I found that at least client-side, grabbing the older libxml2.so.2 from the noble packages, extracting it, and point LD_LIBRARY_PATH at it, I could successfully run the client binaries.

Guess I will stay away from server migrations until they get around to fixing this properly.

    Hey Rick Sayre

I'd used the same trick too :-) client works on arm64 fine on 26.04. I don't mind networkoptix holding the server versions back but it would be nice in the future to see just the client builds more closely track Ubuntu releases time wise.

    Hi Rick Sayre, Campbell Steven,

Please be aware that Ubuntu 26.04 LTS on mey personal laptop broke following a recent system update and package cleanup (sudo apt autoremove). I have not actively troubleshot this issue, but please note that compatibility may currently fail.

Regarding faster adoption of Ubuntu updates: we only begin development once a version has officially launched. Experience has shown that supporting pre-releases or non-LTS builds is unreliable, a principle we apply across Linux, Windows, and macOS alike.

As a result, our standard policy is to introduce support for new OS versions in the next major release following our current code freeze.

    Best regards.

    Thanks for the information Norman

26.04 is at 26.04.1 LTS now

Indeed the shenanigans require care; if one does not edit dependencies to remove the unsatisfiable libxml2, subsequent apt is likely to flag the package as broken or try to remove it.  It's not for the unwary.

    Looking forward to coming support.
