Consult camera's in NXWitness Client - camera's image freeze, hang
AnsweredHello,
we have the following setup :
A QNAP (TS-253D) Nas with 2 disks WD Digital GOLD 7200 RPM's disks with a shared map.
On this QNAP a VM is running with 4GB RAM and 4 core (the nas has 8 GB total).
Specs wise the vm has no issue with load etc.
We have mounted the share of 4 TB on the folder : /opt/networkoptix/mediaserver/var/data so the recorded data is written on the share.
This has worked perfect in the past, but lately the images freeze a lot and we get the followign error :
"Not enough HDD/SSD speed for recording to <drivename>"
Could it be that these WD's GOLD of 7200 RPM are not up to task and we could switch to "slower" WD's PURPLES of 5400 RPM?
Regards,
Alessandro

Hi @...,
Please check the following support article. <<<LINK>>>
Due to the fact you mention that the cameras freeze a lot, and you get the mentioned notification, makes me think that a network issue would be the first thing to investigate.
It is logical to assume that if some disk unexpectedly completely fails (local) or goes offline (network) this message will likely be the first thing the user notice in the logs.
If it is very frequent, I would consider running tcpdump on the server to capture the communication between server and client and server and camera(s). If it isn't very frequent, so you can wait for it to happen, I would set up a ring buffer, so you can stop the capture as soon as the issue has occurred.
