Arecont Vision Camera streaming loss after upgrade to 6.1.2.42921
AnsweredDear Nx Witness Support Team,
We have recently upgraded several of our sites to the latest Nx Witness version 6.1.2.42921, from earlier releases such as 4.2.0.32840 and 5.1.3.38363.
After the upgrade, we are experiencing streaming loss issues with Arecont Vision cameras. This occurs regardless of whether the cameras are added via RTSP or HTTP. We have also enabled RTSP for Arecont cameras from the web admin page, but the issue persists.
The problem appears to be universal across different models of Arecont Vision cameras.
Could you please investigate this issue and advise on possible solutions?
Thank you for your support.
Best regards, Calvin

Hi Calvin Chiang,
To give a bit of background, older software versions used a native integration for Arecont devices. Starting around version 6.0.x, we transitioned to relying on ONVIF. This change occurred because Arecont has two distinct product lines: the legacy (pre-Costar) lineup, which supported the native integration, and the newer Contera models, which require ONVIF or their manufacturer API.
To troubleshoot, I recommend testing the camera in ONVIF Device Manager:
- If it works in ONVIF Device Manager: It should connect properly within the VMS as well.
- If it fails in ONVIF Device Manager: You will likely need to reach out directly to Arecont support for further assistance.
Please let me know if you have any questions or need help running the test!
Best regards.
