Hotspot navigation sometimes opens cameras at the wrong playback time
AnsweredHotspot navigation sometimes opens cameras at the wrong playback time
Description
One of our customers has found what appears to be an issue with Hotspot navigation in Nx Witness.
When navigating between cameras using Hotspots during playback, some cameras occasionally open at a different timestamp than the currently synchronized playback position. The difference can range from a few seconds to several minutes.
Environment
- Nx Witness (latest available version)
- All cameras are configured for Full-Time Recording
- Cameras are time synchronized
- Playback synchronization is enabled (Sync button)
Steps to reproduce
- Open a Layout with multiple cameras.
- Enable synchronized playback.
- Navigate through the camera network using Hotspots.
- Open cameras in Full Screen mode and continue navigating using Hotspots.
Expected behavior
Every camera opened through a Hotspot should always continue playback from exactly the same synchronized timestamp as the current playback position.
Actual behavior
Occasionally, the newly opened camera jumps to another timestamp, sometimes several seconds or even several minutes away from the synchronized playback.
Interestingly:
- When exiting Full Screen back to the Layout, all cameras immediately appear correctly synchronized again.
- The searched object is visible at the correct synchronized time in the Layout.
- However, entering Full Screen again and navigating via Hotspots causes the timestamp mismatch to reappear.
- Even pressing the Sync button again before switching cameras does not prevent the issue.
Additional information
This behavior makes investigating incidents significantly slower because operators cannot rely on Hotspot navigation to preserve synchronized playback across cameras.
Has anyone experienced similar behavior, or is this a known issue?

Hi Martins Kambaris,
If you're actually using the latest version, version 6.1.2, we highly recommend reaching out to your Authorized Reseller as soon as possible.
They are best equipped to investigate the root cause of this specific issue and get it resolved or escalated for you.
Best regards.
