Release Roadmap / Cloud Support
AnsweredHello Network Optix.
I was wondering if you had a roadmap for how long v6.0.5 would be receiving cloud access services before being discontinued. I understand you are unlikely to have an exact date in mind, but I was hoping you could give me a general estimate? Cloud services are important to my use case.
I have an Hanwha WRN-810S which is limited to 18.04 and an updated Ubuntu distribution has not been issued by Hanwha, nor do I expect them to release one. With 18.04 I cannot upgrade past v6.0.5, which is understandable. I'm not sure if I can I just update to Ubuntu and maybe lose some of the features like the PoE switch due to driver compatibility or if my 4 preinstalled licenses will stop working. So I'd like to keep this running as long as possible but would also like to know how much longer I can use this with the cloud.
I appreciate any insights you can provide.

Hi Swimmer90,
We don't have any immediate or set timelines for ending Cloud support, and dropping support for v6.0.x isn't currently under discussion. For context, we only recently ended support for v5.0.x. When deciding on version support, we typically look at active usage, unless maintaining a legacy version becomes unfeasible on our updated Cloud platform.
If you want to upgrade the OS, Timeshift and Clonezilla are common options to keep your setup safe and provides the option to revert to the previous state.
With kind regards.
