Server system with 2x live view monitors- updating to 6.1.2.
Hello,
I have a client with approx 120 sites, with anywhere from 30 to 300 cameras per site. All sites have a dedicated Nx server, full licensed with Pro licenses. All cameras are licensed and recording. Client has one to two live view spot monitors per site, each with its own micro PC with Nx client only as a local account/user, for the display of some of their cameras in live view only. The live spot monitors are on the internal CCTV network, locally connected as a local user and do not go through Nx Cloud. The internet can die, and these still work.
These cameras are being recorded on the main server and only view live on these monitors.
Currently these are working well, with no issues.
Looking to move the client from 6.0.6 to 6.1.2. I understand that if I update to 6.1.2, the live view monitors will need to be licensed to allow the live views. Is this correct?
Is there any work around, as the client has already purchased the licenses to record these cameras and has not had to purchase any licensing to allow the live view?

Hi Glynn,
We have lots of sites running the 6.1+ versions of NX, you do not need live-view licenses if your cameras are being recorded already.
However, some clients ask not to record some cameras in that case you'll have an issue viewing them live.
