Edge Storage feature on Nx
Dear Nx team,
Could you please clearly confirm:
Whether NX Edge Storage supports automatic synchronization/backup of recordings from the camera’s SD card to the server after the network connection is restored; and If yes, please provide the relevant official documentation, datasheet references, or configuration guidelines that describe this feature. Your clarification will help us accurately explain and justify the solution to the customer.

We have made a simple guidance on How to test - ONVIF Profile G- Run the browser, check on the camera web page to enable camera recording is set as continuous recording.
- Make sure to synchronize the camera time and the Nx time.
- Add the camera into Nx Witness, right click on the camera, click Camera Settings. Find the Expert page, you’ll see Import from Device if this camera supports Profile G.
(Some camera brands are connected to Nx by API, so ONVIF Profile G won’t work at this moment) - Switch to Recording tag, enable Record Always. (*A license is needed. Consult with your local resellers to get a trial license.)
- Record for a couple of minutes and turn off Nx Witness Server, unplug network cable from Nx Witness Server or disable Nx Witness Server service. A few minutes later, plug the network cable back or enable Nx Witness Server service, and wait for a while and the footage from the camera will be copied back to Nx. (** You can also unplug network cable from the camera side if the camera is powered by an adapter. If it is a PoE powered camera, don’t be silly to unplug the network cable or the camera will just power off, true story :)
- After testing, please kindly share the testing result with your Nx Regional manager to update the supported list.
