All cameras periodically disconnect when PdhMonitor error occurs. Need help!
AnsweredHello,
I am seeking assistance regarding a recurring issue with my Nx Witness system.
Periodically, all cameras in the system disconnect at the same time and then automatically reconnect to resume recording. Whenever this happens, I see the following warning in the logs:
WARNING nx::monitoring::PdhMonitor(0x203fd8a27c0): Error in PdhGetFormattedCounterValue: 2147485654
This issue occurs several times a day. My system environment is as follows:
- OS: Windows Server 2025
- Symptom: Simultaneous disconnection of all cameras followed by automatic reconnection.
Has anyone encountered this specific PdhMonitor error or resolved a similar issue? I am wondering if this is a known compatibility issue with Windows Server 2025 or if there are specific OS settings I should adjust.
Any advice or troubleshooting tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance!

To ensure compatibility with Windows Server 2025, please verify that you are running Nx Witness version 6.1 or higher.
If you continue to experience issues while using version 6.1, please contact your authorized Nx Reseller for technical investigation. They can escalate the matter directly to the Nx Support team if further assistance is required.
Best regards.

Thank you for your guidance.
I have successfully updated Nx Witness to the latest version 6.1 as you recommended for Windows Server 2025 compatibility. However, the issue persists even after the update.
The recording on all cameras continues to stop and restart intermittently. Upon checking the logs, I found the following error message:
WARNING nx::monitoring::PdhMonitor: Error in PdhGetFormattedCounterValue: 0x800007d6 (A counter with a negative denominator value was detected.)
I am in a difficult situation as this stability issue is affecting our operations. Since the version update did not resolve the problem, could you please provide technical guidance or escalate this matter to the Nx Support team for further investigation?
I look forward to your prompt response.
Best regards,

Additionally, it appears that the error occurs while retrieving server performance information. Could you please advise if there is a way to disable the server performance monitoring feature within the VMS to bypass this issue?
