Bounding boxes analytics Dahua and Hikvision
AnsweredHi,
We have a test system with NX with two PTZ cameras connected to it, a Dahua SD49225XA-HNR and a Hikvision DS-2DF8225IX-AEL. Both cameras have analytics (intrusion detection) programmed in it, however I cannot get the analytics overlay visible in the NX client We are running the latest version NX as well as the latest camera firmware for both units. Streams are set to Low. Am I missing something why the bounding boxes are not visible in the client?
Thanks.

Hi @...,
I have used a few cameras of Hikvision and Dahua over the years. Unfortunately, sometimes the behavior of the cameras isn't consistent and some do show these bounding boxes on the primary and/or secondary stream, and sometimes they are only visible in the webpage of the camera.
You were on the right track regarding the stream. Until now, all cameras that showed the bounding boxes, displayed the bounding boxes on the secondary stream and some rare occasions on the third stream.
You could check if the bounding boxes are visible on any stream via the VLC media player, an open source media player, that is capable of displaying network streams.
If the bounding boxes are shown there, they should be visible in Nx as well. I know that some Dahua cameras use the third stream for the bounding boxes. In that case, they can't be displayed in Nx at this stage, since we solely use the primary and secondary streams.
In the future we will offer the option to change the RTSP streams of a camera, which was added through an HTTP connection. At this stage it isn't known in which version it will be available.
