A lot of access from server to cameras
AnsweredHello.I'm using NxWitness system Ver.3.2.0.28738 on Ubuntu16.04/18.04.
I've found a lot of HTTP access from NxWitness server to the all registered cameras via port 80 , e.g. 1 camera 5-10 times/minute.
This phenomenon has been seen for months.
HTTP access is belows(I use axis cameras) :
http://camera's IP/axis-cgi/param.cgi?action=list&group=root.Network.eth0.MACAddress
http://camera's IP/axis-cgi/param.cgi?action=list&group=root.Network.Bonjour.FriendlyName
Could you tell me
- why the phenomenon happens ?
- how to stop the phenomenon ?
For your information, I disenabled auto-discovery and
failover option in the Nx system.
The phenomenon is seen with both recording and non-recording
cameras.
Best regards,

Hi @...,
Regarding:
- why the phenomenon happens ?
- how to stop the phenomenon ?This is ordinary communication between camera and server application as part of the integration with Axis and this can't be stopped.

Hi Norman,
Thank you for the reply.
It seems the number of communication with cameras is too many times
although I understand there should be communication between camera and NxWitness.
If there are the thirty cameras registered to Nx, the communication happens 2.5-5 times/second.0 -
Hi @...,
Please elaborate what the problem is that you want to resolve?
If you want to minimize the number of HTTP requests, you could disable the auto-discovery in the System Administration menu, tab General.
