NX Witness Server unable to add cameras on the same subnet
AnsweredI'm doing a trial of NX Witness Server to see if it's a good fit for our company.
I've placed the software on a server that's in the same IP subnet as the cameras, but so far I'm having no luck whatsoever adding any of our cameras to it. I feed the client an IP, port (443) and the correct login... and nothing. We have a mix of HikVision and Axis cameras that are all shown as compatible in the NX Witness database. I've also tried the server component in both Windows Server 2016 and Ubuntu 18.04 LTS with no change in behavior.

Hi Sean,
Thank you for your feedback.
I'm glad you were able to discover the cameras and get them working. Port 80 should be the HTTP default for Axis and Hikvision cameras.
Encrypted streams are not an option on NX Witness as of now, but HTTPS-only support for ONVIF cameras is planned for version 4.2 in the future.

Following up on this, I was able to successfully get NX Witness to talk to my cameras over port 80. However, I'm definitely looking to use SSL to communicate with the cameras as that's what I'm already doing in my existing system (exacqvision). Do you have any hints as to how I can make that happen?
