Client Running on Server PC

We build our own servers and have installed over 2000 cameras on the Network Optix (DW Spectrum) software.  We recently had few servers running very slow.  We were wondering if perhaps there is an issue with running Client software on the same machine as the Server.  If so, do you recommend having separate PC's or would bumping up specs on the server machine (i.e. better graphics) would solve the problem.   Thank You

  In general, a separate server and client device is recommended, but for smaller systems it is a common practice to run the server and client on a single device. 

  Likely both applications battle for resources (CPU and RAM) which might make the application slow. Higher specs, mainly CPU and RAM might resolve it, but first the root cause should be analyzed.

  • Desktop
