Hi,

Can you help, 

We have a school who is putting in two servers with NX on one for fail over with 100 cameras on. The school is now saying they could put the NX on there servers and don't need our stand alone servers.

Is this best practice or would you advise they keep the CCTV on its own servers ??

  Hi @...,

  Theoretically there is no objection to use any server as long as they meet the recommended hardware requirements.
  From a management perspective I can understand that you would like to use your own hardware though.  

  Also, in case of standalone servers you know and control what is running on the device which avoids conflicting software (virusscanners!) that might influence the performance of the video surveillance system.
