System Restore from failing Boot Drive
AnsweredHi All,
On two of our servers we are seeing an issue where the boot drive has become "inaccessible" (seems to have changed to read only), and we are seeing multiple strange issues start to occur (live stream not broadcasting, but the feed is recording, motion events stopped recording). See screenshot 1

I would like to just reset the machine - but am worried it won't boot back up. The drives storing the data seem fine.
If I need to replace the boot drive - can I restore the system from a database backup (the backup created in the screenshot at the end), and is there a step by step on this process listed anywhere?
Thanks in advance for the help!
Conor

Hi @...,
I assume the following support article describes all answers to your questions: LINK.
I would first look if the drive is mounted properly in the OS and check if the issue is resolved when mounted again.

Thanks Norman,
I used the linked guide to create a system backup - but was able to solve the issue by using a USB ubuntu boot drive to access the computer, then repairing a corrupted file system on the original boot drive.
If anyone has had issues with boot drives getting corrupted, I'd love to know (so I can avoid this in the future!)
