DW Spectrum integration with Axis A8105-E video issues
AnsweredWhen I first bring the Axis A8105-E into DW it looks great but after a while, I assume DW that takes control of the Axis door station and adds the dwspectrumPrimary and dwspectrumSeconday streams, and then the video in DW becomes dull pixelates, and at times the video looks like it's melting off the screen. At first thought, it was because I also set up the Axis Companion app so the end-user could have the pop-up call notification on their computer and mobile phone but thought perhaps the door station sees this as two separate and competing VMS's. So factory reset the Axis DI and again looked fine but after a while the same thing. I changed the Primary stream Codex in DW to MJPEG which does seem to help but certainly, there is more to this. I also had to modify the landscape view area within the Axis DI setup to get a better view of DW. I have added rules in DW to use a soft trigger to open the door but the rule to show on Alarm Layout or set to full screen does not always work, particularly if the camera view is already open. Trying to create the Doorbell type effect that would pop up the video when the door button is pushed in the case they had another window open over DW at the time.

Hi Scott Donahue,
Your assumptions are correct. DW Spectrum and the Axis Companion application will have conflicting settings and will both send their preferred settings to the device.
To circumvent this you can go to the Camera Settings menu, tab Expert and check the option Keep camera stream and profile settings... In this way DW Spectrum takes the stream as is without pushing its own settings to the camera.
Regarding the soft trigger and the Show on Alarm Layout and Set to Fullscreen actions. You're right again. If a camera is already in the alarm layout or in fullscreen and a new Soft Trigger is pushed, it won't appear again in the alarm layout or full screen.
A common practice is it to add the following rules:
Event = Soft Trigger | Action = Do HTTP request (to the server itself)
Event = Generic Event | Action = Play Sound or Repeat Sound
Event = Generic Event | Action = Show Desktop Notification
Event = Generic Event | Action = Send Mobile Notification
Event = Generic Event | Action = Set to fullscreen or Show on Alarm layoutIn this way you can use a single event, a soft trigger in this example, to execute multiple actions.
