networkoptix mount
AnsweredI move the /opt/networkoptix/mediaserver to /var/networkoptix/mediaserver/ and make the link
"mediaserver -> /var/networkoptix/mediaserver/"
I find Server Setting > Storage Management > Storage Locations , it will cause "Inaccessible".

Hi Alice,
As my reply to your first post, we do not support to install or move Nx Witness directory to other paths.
Even though you could make the soft link to the new path, there're still some static paths required for different service.
Please keep it on its default path /opt/networkoptix.
Feel free to leave your comment if you have further question.
Thank you.

could I assign the database output path?
https://support.networkoptix.com/hc/en-us/articles/115013837268-Nx-Server-Database-Files
Because I dont want to let the data usually write to /opt/networkoptix/var.
I want to put it in /var

Hi Alice,
Thanks for your information. Unfortunately, we don't have any plan to support such kind of configuration at the moment.
The installed path still needs to keep as the default one. That means all files are not allowed to move, except the archive.
Archive should be the data which is written most frequently when you enable the camera recording. You could add another storage disk for storing the archive and disable the default location(/opt/networkoptix/mediaserver/var/data) if you don't like to write the data in the /var path.
Hope this answer helps.
Thank you.

Hi Alice,
If you add a external disk, Nx support the file system in EXT4 and the disk should be detected automatically.
Could you share more information with your environment, likely you can answer the question below:
1). Do you install Ubuntu on a physical machine, or a virtual machine
2). How do you mount the storage?
3). What's the file system format of this storage?
4). I'm not sure about the "virtual point" problem. Cold you describe the scenario also provide the screenshot of current configuration(Storage management and setting of camera recording) to us?
Look forward to your feedback, thanks.

1). I install Ubuntu on a physical machine.
2). I mount the storage with https://www.suse.com/support/kb/doc/?id=000018399
3). the file system format is ext4
4). I use Nx to record videos. If record is successful,it will show the red point, right.
If I use the Storage Locations that I mount to record the video, it will show the twinkle point.

Hi Alice,
Did the Nx detect the storage before mounting to the /var?
Does the "twinkle point" case always happen on the certain cameras, or it will happen on each camera randomly?
Thanks.

Q: Did the Nx detect the storage before mounting to the /var?
A: Sure. When I mount to the /var, the Nx detect the storage.
And I only use the /var storage to record video. It will happen the twinkle point status.
If I use other storage, like "/home/nx" Storage that I mount. It is ok.
Q: Does the "twinkle point" case always happen on the certain cameras, or it will happen on each camera randomly?
A: If I use the "/var" Storage that I mount, "twinkle point" case will happen on each camera.

Hi Alice,
Thanks for your info. Now it's more clear to me. Based on your screenshot of "twinkle point" case, all cameras will not happened on the same time but random occur on several cameras.
Could you collect the following information:
1. The screenshot of the following page:
- Camera Setting > Recording tab: One of camera which get the twinkle point problem
- Server Setting > Storage management
2. Check if any storage issue appears from the Event log(ctrl+L)
3. Check if any archive can be stored in the additional storage(By default, it will create two folder "hi_quality" and "low_quality" then write the footage there.
Thank you.
