Scheduling record to less than an hour

How do I set the system to schedule an 'always record' in a specific second\minute ?

We have a customer willing to install a camera on a construction site, wishing to have a snapshot once or twice a day, and a year and half later, to export these snapshot to one nice timelaps video.

My idea was basically to record a single hour a day, and next year to export the video, which anyway will take single frames from each record.

the challenge is: he is limited with storage, so an hour a day exceedes his storage budget, but a frame or 2 a day will fit his needs.

What is the best practice to achive the mentioned above ?

  As you noticed, the recording schedule uses blocks of 1 hour each, so with Nx Witness, you can't achieve your goal easily. 
  In our API we have the option /ec2/cameraThumbnail, which give you the option to create a solution that meets your requirements. You could create a script that executes this api call X number of time per day and save it to a specific folder and you can create an animation with all these files whenever you want.
