Provide Audio from a Microphone directly connected to the server hardware
AnsweredIn one of the support articles it states:
"How Nx Witness Handles Audio
Nx Witness supports audio in various codecs, either through the camera via an internal microphone or an external microphone. "
However, I cannot find how to link the external microphone to a camera, in the server configuration settings.
I have 2 cameras connected via a hub to the desktop PC acting as the server, which has an external high gain microphone connected to the 'mic in' (Realtec audio input) on the PC. The requirement is to use this audio stream with the two cameras, as the microphones in the cameras have poor resolution and are very 'tinny'.
Can you please let me know if this is possible and how to configure it.

HI Peter Ferris,
Unfortunately you cannot use a microphone that is connected to the client or server.
The input on the PC is used to send audio to the audio output of a device (camera / I/O).Poor microphones on cameras are a common issue, and, in general, can be circumvented by connecting an external microphone to the audio input of the camera. Unfortunately not all cameras have an audio input and you are convicted in using the internal microphone.
