    Hi Tomasz.

We were going to do it, but didn't manage to fit in in the scope for the 4.1 version. Will try to get it done in an upcoming release.

What do you think about the [Ctrl] + [F] combination, like in Chrome?

    [Ctrl] + [F] sounds great :-)

    Hi Victor Kravchuk,

The promise of @... still stands. The Ctrl+F request will be added to a future release. No fixed version yet, but likely in version 4.2, but due to various reasons, it might be postponed till a later version.

Your request is a separate, additional request, that will be considered separately.

To be honest, I doubt we redesign the system exactly as you described, so no camera opening in a full screen without GUI elements.

If that is what you want, probably our Video Wall feature is the way to go, although it would require to click and drag the relevant camera(s) or layouts into the video wall, which does not show all the GUI elements.

We won't go back to the matrix era. I hope you understand that we implement features that are easy to understand by the users and which are of use for most customers, instead of very specific use cases like casinos.

That being said, your suggestions won't be ignored, but they will be discussed and if we have a generic solution that can be used easily and benefits a significant part of our users, we will consider creating such a feature. This might happen in a near future version (months from now), but also a far future versions (years from now). Currently, the feature set for 4.2 and even 4.3 is more or less defined and major features are unlikely to be added.

For now, what I would suggest is creating a layout per playing area, and when you open the layout, and you double-click a camera to go full screen, you can use the arrow keys on your regular keyboard, to switch between the different cameras in the layout and with another double-click or the Esc key, you return the entire layout.

Also, you could create a background map, with the relevant cameras on it, so you can easily enlarge the cameras with a single click, or double-click to go full screen and again use the arrow keys and Esc to navigate between the cameras in the layout.

Victor, I totally agree with you. We mostly work in large projects with many professional operators involved and I confirm what you just wrote. That is exactly why I created this topic. One of recent examples, central monitoring stations in hundreds of shopping malls all over the country. Thousands of cameras, hundreds in each shopping mall. Operators mostly are looking for thieves on so many cameras. Almost everytime we demo Nx in such projects, we get the same question - how to quickly (very quickly) open some specific camera. In most VMS systems you get it by pressing two buttons, like a camera number for example. Nx GUI is very nice, but unfortunately is too slow in this kind of operation.

In my opinion CTRL+F shortcut to search camera would be of solution to this problem. It would speed up this action - at least twice faster. Anyway, they told us they will implement this shortcut, but we must wait many months (years?), so we are thinking to design and create our own special keyboard to speed up this control action in Nx. When I get some idea of this, I will let you know.

    Hi Tomasz Polus,

The original Ctrl+F solution won't take months from now on before it should be available.

    Hi Victor Kravchuk,

It will work just as anything that uses Ctrl+F for searching.

    Hit Ctrl+F and start typing.

Exact details will be available when released.

    Hi Victor Kravchuk,

It will be with GUI. Ctrl+F will work similar to clicking on the search field, the rest of the feature will be the same as it is now.

    Hi Victor Kravchuk,

Just wait and see until the feature is released. As mentioned before, changes might be applied in the final release, so detailed descriptions are useless at this stage.
