Mobotix camera
AnsweredI have access to a number of existing Mobotix cameras and I wanted to tie them into NX witness.
Can someone point me at instructions covering the addition of Mobotix cameras please?
Thanks,

Hi Dan,
As my experience the early Mobotix x4/x5(M14/M24/D14...M15/M25/D25...) models supported the RTSP server function means you can upgrade camera firmware to the latest and turn on the function then the camera can be added by RTSP streaming into Nx.
If the model is x2(like M12/D22/M22) you can add by HTTP streaming into Nx as well but can't get too higher framerate.
If the model is x6(M16/D26...) you can also update the camera firmware and turn on the ONVIF function in the camera setting,it will be supported via ONVIF (mainstreaming only)

Hi Danny,
You can add the camera as a generic HTTP-mjpeg stream according to Mobotix api:
http://<camera_IP>/cgi-bin/faststream.jpg
I must warn you though that there will be limitations caused by such an approach:
- The server can not control stream fps/quality
- By default, motion detection will be disabled(can be enabled via the "Expert" tab of the "Camera settings" menu)
- Dual streaming won't be available
- The load on the CPU of the client and the server will be larger than 'normal' situations.

Is there a way to get full resolution from Mobotix X26 cameras on NX Witness?
Onvif only gives me 1440x1080
Release notes from last FWupdate of Mobotix says the following...
-
Increased frame rates for RTP streams
The maximum attainable frame rates of H.264 RTP live streams have been significantly increased for various image scenes. -
Increased resolution for MJPEG streams
In previous software versions (>= MX-V5.4.0.x) MJPEG RTP streams were limited to a maximum resolution of 2040 x 2040. For ONVIF compatible RTP streaming clients, the camera again supports streaming MJPEG resolutions greater than 2040 x 2040.

Dear Karel De Boe,
I hope this message finds you well. I was wondering if you could kindly provide us with some information regarding the behavior of the devices when they are connected to the Onvif Device Manager? Are these similar or can you stream the full resolution in ODM?
Thank you in advance for your help.
Best regards.

Hello Karel De Boe,
I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to bring to your attention that if the behavior observed in the Onvif Device Manager is similar to what we have seen in the Nx Witness VMS, it is unfortunately not something that we have control over. It will need to be further investigated and resolved by Mobotix.
Thank you for your understanding, and please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.
Best regards.
