About PTZ control improving

Current PTZ interface is anacceptable for the casino purposes - because of too big a target simbol. When operator controls a game process, this simbol is covering a critically big part of the camera view. As for our request, we offer to make a PTZ control via the keyboard arrows and via the pressed left mouse button and moving the mouse cursor to the necessary direction. If it is impossible to exclude the current PTZ control mode - make the possibility to enable/-disable of this option in the software interface. PTZ control via the arrows will be useful if the joystick control become unavailable, or to control PTZ cameras without a joystick (as a rule, any joystick is enough expensive, and sometimes joysticks become unworkable). PTZ control via the second way is very useful when the operator is following to the client. This kind of PTZ control presents in any PTZ camera WEB-interface - it is necessary only to implement it.

Currently, the PTZ controls are under review by our UI/UX design team and I expect changes in regards to the PTZ control in the future, but it is a bit early days to say when.I will bring this topic to the attention of our UI/UX design team to make them aware of your suggestions.

Thanks a lot for your quick feedback.
As you know, there are only the few software packets which are ready to work for the casino purposes: Avigilon, Pelco and maybe someone else. Nx is a very new, actual and nowaday product, but such issue like PTZ-control target simbol - make a potential client refusin to use NX in casinos. Because it is not useful in operator's work - operator uses a special keyboard (3D-mouse or professional joystick), keyboard arrows and mouse moving with the fixed left button. We are intending to offer Nx to some new Ukrainian casinos, which are planned to open after the Government will allow this business in our country. For now there are few variants The Owner can choose - help us he could choose the Nx. :) We cannot promise the result, but for the Nx it is necessary to make those two kinds of the PTZ control - both of them are implemented to the Avigilon, Pelco etc. many years ago.. :)

Hi Victor,
Are you aware of our Advanced PTZ feature? This will be faster than any joystick or keyboard controls and moreover eliminates the downsides of network latency.

All you have offered me to look - is implemented in almost all IP NVRs.
ZOOM works from the mouse wheel - without thosr huge "plus" and "minus" on the screen. Camera moves to the point we are clicking with the left vouse button - without the same huge target simbol. Guys have only to exclude those simbols from the screen.. BUT, PTZ-control from the arrows is necessary - without this feature PTZ-contrjl seems not finished.. :)
Later I will send to you our request/offer for the "hot buttons" we are asking to implement. Such features will be useful not only casino operators, but for any security operators, who are professionals..

Hope, you will agree with me: those target simbol and plus/minus on both sides - are primitive and excess in the Nx interface. It will be enough to click the left mouse button on the center field of view you need - and camera must move to this point. Why on the screen must be the target simbol? ZOOM must work from the mouse wheel - why the field of view must be trashy with th plus-minus simbols?

These targets are mandatory for cameras that cannot be controlled by point-and-click like our advanced PTZ option.
There are still quite a few PTZ camera in the field, that can't be controlled in that way, so the only option is the target to control them.We use the scroll wheel for digital zoom on any camera and even the whole grid, for fast and smooth operations. Therefore the + and - symbols are used for the PTZ controls of the zoom function.
Of course, improvements may be addressed, we actually encourage that, but please, do not call stuff trashy, real people worked on it with all their pride and read these comments as well.
So I agree that due to new insights, our PTZ controls can be improved and I actually already discussed this with our UX designer and he also agrees on it and has some mockups already in place. After that, it is a matter or general consent, priorities, and resources.
To be really honest, I do not expect any changes in the PTZ controls this year, without a solid business justification, but it is something that is taken into account and I created an internal feedback note for this request.0 -
!. You did not hear me. If there are some quantity of the fossil cameras which cannot work without this mode of PTZ control - make this function for them switching on/off. Don't humiliate more serious cameras with this target or -/+ simbols, which are covering the most important part of the picture..
2. If you are choosing the PTZ camera, software must know, which kind of ZOOM user will call, And after an optical ZOOM will be enough, camera will autonatically start a digital one.. It is obviously..
3. I have called like a trashy not the staff, but only a simbols on the screen, because it was a pure cabinet decision - useless in a practice.. Believe, I have started to work in the casino CCTV area more then 20 years ago, and am knowing wahat I offer or on what am insisting.
4. How the software can be offered to casino, if it has not the desired features? We will not hdve an opportunity even to discuss this case - casino operators will refuse at once, if only they will see this a treasure on the screen.. :)

As you want. But some programmers look into the experienced guys mouth - only for getting the features, which are really claimed by practice..But in our case your staff take a place of "all their pride".. It is only March, and you are telling me about impossibility of the called implementation till the end of the year. Such a policy will not bring a success. It is a pity. Sorry for the time you have spent for me and my requests..
