User access persistent for recordings for time period
AnsweredOur camera systems are deployed for short durations for specific users (say 3 months), then that same system is moved to another location for another user (within the same company). All our camera systems connect to our headquarters where we manage them and store all the recordings. The issue we have is that when a camera is moved to a new site the new user has access to all the recordings from the old site and the old user has access to live view the new camera site and also review the recordings made from the new site.
Is it possible to have the ability to containerise the users access for a specific period? This would mean I could create a new user and provide access to the system from a specific point in time and then end that access at another point in time. During this time period the user has access to live view the cameras and review any recordings that fall within that time period. Once that deployment is complete and the access is ended then the user can still log into the system to review recordings that were created within their access period but would be unable to view live footage or to review any recordings made outside of those time boundaries.
This is a very common problem for law enforcement units throughout Australia as well as globally.

Hello Norman and @...
I wonder if it would be possible to re-add the cameras to the system while maintaining the old cameras and their recordings.
Example:
Install in Site 1 with camera names/ID with Site1-Cam1, Site1-Cam2, etc.
After 3 months change to a new site, and manually change the ID of the existing cameras so that it is a different/virtual camera with their recordings.
Re-add the same cameras, which will be added with their default ID
In the end, your system will have many virtual cameras and accumulate the recordings from multiple sites, however you can then create new users who only have access to the specific cameras from their site.
With the new and improved tree hierarchy which might be coming in a future release, this would be easy to organize for the administrator into multiple "site folders".
Of course this depends on having the ability to change the ID of the camera.
Alternatively, you could just change manually go to the folder name of the cameras and change it's name. Running a reindex should be able to find the recordings and add it as a new camera... (I think... but have not tried).

Hi Miguel Câmara,
Thank you for the suggestion, but this won't work since the unique identifier remains the same for the camera.
So all information remains tied to the same cameras.0
