Nx Desktop get RTSP streaming from AHD camera through AVTECH DVR, sometime video loss, but after camera comes back, Nx cannot see the normal streaming
AnsweredWe use Nx to do the DVR rtsp connection, it is a 16 ch DVR. My questions is that 3 of the AHD cameras, sometimes video loss, then the DVR will streaming a static pictures via rtsp streaming to NX. However, when the AHD camera signal comes back(around 20 to 30 seconds), Nx still shows the static picture streaming instead of the AHD camera rtsp. I paste the same rtsp path on the VLC at the same moment to check if the rtsp back to normal , and it is .
I can only solve this issue on reboot the nx mediaservice, but it is definitely not a long term solution, since every time I reboot the rest of the 13 cameras rtsp will loss as well.
So, could anyone help me on this issue?(I try the advance mode as well, like rtsp connection etc..., but it doesn't help...)

Hi Kuo-Lun Tang,
Please check the following support article for some guidance. --> LINK
Personally I guess that the load on the hardware is too high since it works again for a while after disconnecting the system which indicates that a buffer is full and gets emptied due to the reboot.
I would try to reduce the load on the DVR by reducing the framerate and or increasing the compression.
To be absolutely sure what is going on, I would capture the communication between the server and the DVR with Wireshark and you will see where the failure has its origin.
VLC is not suitable for such a comparison since it retrieves a single stream while Nx retrieves uses dual streaming which increases the load on the device.

Hi Kuo-Lun,
Thanks for sharing. The screen recording clarified the issue for me. To be honest, I guess it is a DVR related issue, but for verification, we would like to ask you to do the same as you did in the video, but then while capturing the packages with Wireshark and share the Wireshark *.pcap file with us. In this way, we can see what is happening when and where.
I assume, and I couldn't see that from you screen recording is that the DVR itself didn't go offline, but just the camera stream on the DVR, so the connection remains and the offline image the DVR shows has a smaller resolution and different codec. And when the DVR isn't offline, Nx Witness will continue to display the stream that it is receiving unchanged since it doesn't and can't know the channel is offline. But packages don't lie and most likely Wireshark will reveal what is going on.
