    Hi Danny,

Most DVRs of Hikvision will be auto-discovered in Nx Witness when they are in the same LAN, but therefore you might need to enable Onvif in the Hikvision DVR.

In general, when the I/O are supported are in the Onvif Device Manager (ODM), they are supported in Nx Witness.

If the I/O aren't supported in ODM the best thing is to report this to Hikvision and ask for a fix.

When you add the video stream as RTSP stream, you will only be able to get the video data and I/O won't work since there aren't initialized.

It looks as if the Hikvision does not have Onvif IO supported so that will be why,

I am also trying to integrate a Truvision TVN100cS onto NX witness. This is discovered on Onvif Device Manager including IO but NX witness does not pick it up

    Hi Danny,

If you can forward the device and share the details to <removed> I will investigate the issue.

We would need the following details:

    1. Public IP address
    2. Admin level username and password
    3. Port numbers that have been forwarded.

Please also assure the input and output are properly wired to each other.

    Hi Norman,

I am unable to provide access to the device directly as it is behind a VPN connection. If there are things that you want me to do on your behalf I am more than happy to do so.

I have just received a trial licence for devices and it has found it but will not bring up the cameras. In the diagnostics it brings the following error. Maybe this will help you?

    Confirming server availability.
    OK

    Confirming camera is accessible.
FAILED: Camera request "getVideoSources" failed with error "SOAP response has small range: Range parameter = VideoSources, Range size = 0, Desired size = 1, Caller = fetchChannelCount(), Device = TVN1004cS, id = {8054e83f-37c2-91c8-b07e-f2ff89ec2ae9}, url = http://10.127.158.253:80/onvif/media_service, request command = GetVideoSources". Please try to reboot the camera, then restore factory defaults on the web-page. Finally, try to update firmware. If the problem persists, please contact support.

    Hi Danny,

Without access, it is near impossible to troubleshoot it.
I would use Wireshark to capture the communication between server and camera to see where it went wrong in the communication.

Maybe you can request your supplier of the Hikvision device to forward the device so we can troubleshoot it through that device?
