    Hi Joshua,

Thank you for the suggestion. Although I'm no part of the product team, they will read your suggestion and discuss the internally.

Currently, we have two options that does the job for me.
That being said, it might not work you, but I will share with you my way of working.

In case you want to group cameras, just put them in a layout and consider the layout branch in the device tree as your group folder.

Call the layout 'Group of cameras 1' for example and when you click on the triangle of the relevant Layout aka Camera Folder the cameras in that Layout aka Camera Folder will show and you can open them in a new layout.

Of course, since it is a Layout, you cal also drag the whole Camera Folder to the grid and all cameras in that group will be displayed.

But the function I most often use is the search function, which is explained in this video. This works particularly well in very large systems, so you don't have to look for the right folder, layout, etc. It will instantly should you the possible options. You even can add search or exclude search criteria by adding criteria:

•Use + to add new criteria to the search. For example, “out + 100” will select all results containing either “out” or “100”.

•Use \ to omit results containing certain characters. For example, “out \hdtv” will select all results containing “out”, but not “hdtv”.

    Hi Joshua,

Thanks for your feedback! Such requests come to form a lot of places. We feel like we must do it.

Any chance you can elaborate on your point of pain or user story, so we understand it better and come up with better design.
    Thanks anyway!

    Hey guys,

thank you so much for your responses.

We have a site whereby various rooms with particular cameras in each room.

So say for example, I wanted to see the common room. It would be nice to have another folder within the Server Tree where that folder can hold a sort of cameras, unlike a layout.

    So it would go

    Server >

                  Common Room >

                                              Camera 1, 2, 3,

Then from there we could make a custom view with selected areas, instead of the cameras themselves.

Hopefully that could give an idea to the problem at hand..

    Regards,

Joshua, How often do you have multiple servers in a building?

Do you use the failover feature?
