Dahua ANPR support
In ProgressDahuas new ITC cameras are really good. ITC215 and ITC231
It would be great if the ANPR from these would be a part of the analytics integration in Nx.
So that the license plates would be searchable in Nx + block- and pass-lists to trigger events.

Fredrik,
We are actively working on deep AI integration with Dahua cameras and Dahua team seems to be supportive.
I'll check if we have a camera with ANPR. In case if we do not, we'll try to get one and do it.
Thanks.
One issue though. We won't support block and pass lists for now. The support will be introduced with events/actions redesign which is 2 versions away. -
Unfortunately, Santa's elves didn't provide the proper information to enable us to do the LPR integration at this stage, therefore it is postponed till an unknown date. I have asked some clarification from our dev team and will let you know when I know more.
-
Our team is right now working on this feature. Very likely it will be available in some of the upcoming patches.
-
That is good news.
Are you testing with both their AI ANPR cameras like IPC-HFW7842H-ZVH, and the ITC cameras like ITC215-PW6M-IRLZF-B?
I can provide remote access to a ITC camera if needed. -
Sorry, my previous answer was misleading. ANPR support for Dahua cameras is already completed and tested. It will be available in 4.2 September patch.
We've tested it with IPC-HFW7442H-ZFR camera and do not expect any issues with the cameras you've mentioned.
You can test it by installing 4.2 September patch. If you don't have access to our patches, just tell me, I'll post it here as soon as it is released.
-
Nice. I guess I can find the patch here when its released: https://my.networkoptix.com/#/download
-
Have you tested it? The ANPR support is made through the Dahua API, and should apply to multiple models. Which models should be confirmed by Dahua.
When I searched for the Dahua ITC215-PW4I-IRLZF27135, I did notice that Dahua marks it as Project only, this might indicate they use another API for the ANPR function. If that is the case, I would encourage Dahua to unify the base API in the firmware of this project only device.
-
The camera use the same API.
But on auto by default it is detected by Nx with Vendor:General instead of Vendor:Dahua so the Dahua plugin will not be enabled in Nx.So it needs the same workaround as the rest of the ITC cameras.
Kai: I suggest that you set up direct access to the camera on port 80 and 554 then give access to Norman through a private support ticket. -
Fredrik Ahlsen Thanks for adding this note. That is also an option of course.
Kai Magnus Nymann, at this stage, remote access isn't necessary. If you can share a screenshot from with the Nx Witness Desktop client of the Camera Settings menu, tab General, that reveals Vendor, Model, and Firmware, I should be able to create a fix.

4 - Add the device againTo stop and start the media server, please do it as follows:

Please confirm, and we will add it to a future patch. -
If Traffic Detection doesn't appear, it is most likely a firmware issue.
Nx, displays and uses the events, the camera provides. You can check this list with the help of Wireshark. To capture the list you can take the following steps:
- Remove the device from the system.
- Start Wireshark on the Nx mediaserver with the camera IP address as the host filter
- Add the device to the system and wait till an image is shown.
- Stop and save Wireshark
- Check or share the Wireshark trace file to see which events are supported.
