Assign AD Groups to Layout view

We use Active Directory for our authentication. Users are a member of a AD Group and this allows us to add them as a User in NZ Witness.

The pain for us starts when trying to create views for users. We are a manufacturing facility with no "Security" dept. With our Mobotix cameras and software we can control who has access to what.

What we really need in NX Witness is the ability to create layouts such as one for each area of the factory and then assign AD groups to those layouts. Then when a user logs in the are automatically presented with the layouts that they are AD group members of. Depending on the user they would need to see more than one layout. Sone will need all Layouts. We have deployed NX Witness to a smaller factory with 50 cameras as this simpler to execute. But our main factory (120+ cameras) we are delaying the upgrade of our Mobotix cameras to Hikvision and NX Witness as the administrative overhead in assigning layouts and roles to 30+ staff is something we don't want to tackle. In v4 could you please integrate AD groups with roles and layouts please.

  I'm having the same issue and it will only get worse. We're half way through a 500+ camera, 2 site rollout.

  Hi Nick, Malcolm,

  We have better LDAP integration and user management based on AD groups in our roadmap and already began working on it. Can't promise any dates though since we are still in the initial phase.
