Stronger cryptographic support for hash functions

Currently, local credentials (such as local use accounts) are protected using a salty MD5 hash.

I think it need a stronger encryption method.

  Although it has been quite a while ago since you posted your question, could you elaborate a bit more about why and what solution you propose?

  We are working on more secure authentication methods, which won't be using MD5 hash. 
  Likely they are to be included in the 4.2.

  4.2 won't have MD5 for sure. 

  By default, it still will be possible to create such a user for the sake of backward compatibility of API integrations.
