Server Multi-Core/Multi-Threading
CompletedHello,
I am wanting to make sure I am understanding the specs I am reading at https://support.networkoptix.com/hc/en-us/articles/206090177-Nx-Witness-Server-Hardware-Specs , specifically"* Nx Server uses only the CPU and can manage 128 high definition streams on a single core of a Core i3 device." Can you clarify if the NX Witness/Spectrum can make use of multiple cores for processing? Is there a limit to the number of cores that can be utilized by the software?
Thank you,
Terance

Hi Terance -
Nx Witness does utilize all cores in multi-core processors. We're just pointing out the power of the solution - it's lightweight enough to be able to run well even on single-core solutions.
Basically, without getting too technical, each camera has multiple threads - for streaming, for archiving, for motion analysis, etc. The Server application then executes threads based on resource availability.0 -
Hey Tony!
