Wearable/Body Cams
CompletedDoes anyone have any experience using body/wearable cameras in Nx? If so what cameras/platform are you using?

Hi Tim - just want to make sure you know that 4.0 is introducing the Virtual Camera feature, which will allow you to use any wearable camera to capture and upload footage into archive for streaming and analysis.

Hi Tim,
You can add any video containing the Metadata, which allows us to index the footage in the timeline.
Think about many dashcameras, action/sportscameras, DSLRs, etc.0 -
Will there be any support in the API to upload video programmatically to the server without user intervention?

This is a Valid point @mathewdelsalto - systems we have looked at like the FLIR True Witness system are all automated to upload to their own VMS when the base station is docked. - https://www.flir.com.au/products/truwitness/
I'm guessing the best way to achieve the automated upload would be for NX or the Hardware vendor to integrate via API.Our customer interest around this product is from shopping centres where the video backup needs to be automatic. There is no way a guard or control room operator would be able to do this without stuffing it up!

The API for the virtual camera is available, but the documentation is not completed yet. We will gladly provide information for the developer who intends to use it.
At some point, we will make the documentation public. For now, please, email us: meta@networkoptix.com

Bumping an old thread, but has anyone had luck with body cams which automatically upload when they come into the vicinity of a Wifi hotspot or when docked to charge?

Hi Alexis,
There is no integration for such an application.
You most likely can add the footage as a virtual camera.
Manually: https://support.networkoptix.com/hc/en-us/articles/360024011873-Add-a-Virtual-Camera-v4-0-
Or automatically developed by a 3rd party: https://support.networkoptix.com/hc/en-us/articles/360044995593-Virtual-Camera-API-Protocol-How-to-Import-Files-to-Camera-Archive1 -
