Smart Feature Integration from Hikvision Cameras
AnsweredHi.
Is there a timeline for when the 'Smart Feature-set' from Hikvision cameras will be integrated? We are installing more and more cameras with 'analytics' (of varying degrees) and smarter detection features (such as within Hikvision: Line crossing, intrusion detection, region entering/exiting etc- ie DS-2CD2H85FWD-IZS). I currently have to obtain an event/action out of NX by having the camera trigger its output, which is connected to the cameras input, then triggering an event within NX (subject to the cameras input status). Would be fantastic (and making more sales for us against Hikvision NVR's and Milestone) if these smart features can be used directly via NX. I am finding more and more sites more suited for line crossing, region entering etc rather than the traditional 'motion detection'.
Also have been to a demo this week with the new Hikvision facial recognition and human detection cameras/NVRs. I see a big advantage in having these integrated to NX too- the 'deep in view' products (processing done in the camera)

Hi Luke,
Since v3.2 we support the Hikvision smart events, as well as the Hanwha in-camera analytics, VCA Technology analytics and lots the ACAP plugins of Axis.
https://www.networkoptix.com/in-camera-analytics/
And since yesterday, when we did a soft release for Nx Witness 4.0, we also support the Dahua in-camera analytics.
Besides these in-camera analytics we integrated, there are also tons of analytics that can be processed as a Generic event, like Allgovision, Bosch, Vivotek, Milesight, etc. etc.
The Face recognition of Hikvision is part of their deep learning API of which we currently do not have access to.
Hikvision could make the plugin themselves via our Nx Meta VMP but haven't done this yet.
