Failover Storage Question
CompletedHi, I have a question regarding how storage is managed in a failover event. Assuming there is Server1 with volume1 and a number of cameras, and Server2 with volume2 and no cameras but set as failover.
In the event of Server1 going offline the cameras all move to Server2, and I see volume2 loading up with data under a directory of Server1's UUID, which is all good.
However, I also note that in the NX WebAdmin interface > Settings > Servers > Server2 > StorageLocation = volume2 the data shows as “Other” rather than VMS, however as its Server1's data I guess that makes sense..
But my question is, once Server1 is back online, does that data get moved over hours/days to volume1 or does it remain on volume2. If it stays on volume2 does it age out and eventually get removed by NX, or does one have to manualy remove it at some future point beyond its aging.
Thanks in advance

Hi Stephen Abbot,
Your assumptions are all correct.
Regarding your question; the data won't move from one server to another, the system knows where to retrieve the data from and the playback is seamlessly.
The removal of the data also is seamless, and it will be deleted in the same rate, as it would if it was on the original storage.
With kind regards.
