Adding a new desktop client user, what host & port to use?

Hello. I'm giving a new end user access to the desktop client. I don't know how to find the name or IP address of my server. I'm guessing the port is 7001. How do I find out what to put in the field shown? Thanks in advance.

  Hi Craig McGill,

  Port 7001 is indeed the port you need. 

  There are several ways to check your IP address, but I personally recommend using the terminal for a quick and efficient method.

  First, ensure you're on the device running the Mediaserver.

  • On Windows, open either Command Prompt or PowerShell and type ipconfig to display the available IP addresses.
  • On Linux, open the terminal and type ifconfig to view the available IP addresses.

  This should provide you with the necessary information.
