Reolink E1 Outdoor stopped working in 6.x
CompletedI have a Reolink E1 Outdoor (Wifi) that is used for seasonal applications. It was previously working last year, but fails to work this year. The only changes I made were upgrading from version 5.x software to the version 6.x software.
- The camera shows offline, will periodically scan for presence and then show offline again.
- I tried removing and adding it again, but no improvement.
- I tried factory resetting the camera, but no improvement.
- I can add the RTSP stream alone and it has a stable video feed (no PTZ or Audio controls with that of course)
- ONVIF Device Manager will find the camera and and stream video and controll the PTZ functions as expected. Not sure where to test audio on ODM.
- The camera will continuously ping without fail.
- The camera's web interface and Reolink's camera software works as expected.
So I don't think the camera itself has a problem. What did you guys change in v6 that might have affected this?

Hi Jeff Jones ,
Can you be more specific about the version you're using? The latest public version is 6.0.3.40736.

I think it was version 6.0.2.40414. I have since upgraded to 6.0.3.40736 and just retested the camera. It does seem to be working again. If you fixed something specifically, thanks.

Ooops. I spoke too soon. When I re-added it to the server it seemed to run fine. I unplugged the camera to move locations and after plugging it back in the camera started doing the same thing described in the original post.
I tried deleting it and re-adding it again, but that didn't allow it to work the second time around. I can't imagine why it would briefly work that one time. The camera still works fine in ODM.

Hi Jeff Jones ,
Can you check what happens if you enable Keep camera stream and profile settings in the Expert tab of the Camera Settings menu?

That works. Checking the box allows the camera to display properly. If I uncheck it again it still works for a while or until the camera reboots and then fails to load again. Recheck the box and it starts working again.

Hi Jeff Jones,
Could it be that the devices were connected to a different system, that before?
This might indicate the existing profiles created by the VMS cannot be (re)used, which doesn't matter if you enable this option.
I would factory default the device, add it back the VMS and check if it is able to work without enabling the Keep Camera…. option, but it might be that the use of this option is mandatory for these devices. To be honest, my last experience with Reolink is many many years ago, so I can't provide a guaranteed answer.0 -
The camera hasn't been connected to another system and I did factory default it back in March after I first noticed the problem. Factory defaulting didn't help then. Also, the Keep Camera… option wasn't necessary last year when I used it on the 5.x software. I don't remember which exact 5.x version was being used in the spring of '24.
