2N IP Intercoms
CompletedHi,
I’ve been looking into integrating an intercom into a customer’s NX Witness system that I manage. I noticed that some 2N products are listed as compatible, but I wanted to clarify a few details.
For example, the 2N IP Verso 2.0 intercom is listed as supporting two-way audio and input/output control. Does this integration recognise the call button on the intercom as an input, or does it only apply to the physical extra inputs that can be wired into the unit?
Additionally, I’ve been in touch with 2N regarding their smaller unit—the 2N IP One—which would be a much better fit for my application due to its size. However, they weren’t able to confirm its compatibility with NX Witness. Has any testing been done on this unit, and can you confirm whether all intercom functions would work as expected given it has ONVIF compatibility?
Unfortunately, given the price point of these products, it’s not feasible for me to purchase one solely for testing, as I’d be looking at a ~$2,000 investment. The key functionality I’m after is:
- Triggering a layout to open when the call button is pressed (ideally in both the desktop and mobile app).
- Enabling two-way audio communication.
- Allowing door control through NX Witness.
I’d appreciate any insights you can provide!
Also I'm open to any other brands you can recommend for this purpose, I understand Hanwha could work however they don't offer internal monitors which the customer would like to maintain for non NX users on site.

Hi Jack,
Input/Output (I/O) controls refer to the I/O ports on a device, which can be used for various functions. For example, if a push button is wired to the input, it can trigger a notification. Similarly, if an output is wired to a door or another mechanism, it can be used to open it when activated.
Regarding two-way audio, in both the Nx Desktop and Nx Mobile clients, a microphone icon will appear in the camera’s live stream. This icon typically allows push-to-talk functionality.
That being said, we currently do not have access to a device with these capabilities. The available features and parameters are automatically detected and listed based on what the device reports.
We do know that the 2N team conducted tests on this functionality several years ago, but we are unsure of the current status. If 2N can provide access to a compatible device, we’d be happy to run some tests on our end.
Best regards.
