repurpose server from local merge to cloud merge, best practice?
CompletedWe have a multi server system with 2 locations, expanding to 3. Currently Location 1 has 2 servers that were merged locally. The location 2 has one server that was cloud merged to the system. The client is adding a 3rd location and will be repurposing the second server from location 1 to use at location 3. What is the best practice to get the server 2 from location 1 moved to location 3. It can't just be moved over and automatically connect can it, since it was merged at the local level initially and not cloud merged? What is the best course of action to accomplish this? There are currently no cameras recording to server 2 at location 1.

You're right, you cannot simply move it, since there is no direct communication between both servers.
You can unmerge Server 2, move it to Location 3, and merge Server 2 via the cloud, when it is hooked up at Location 3.

How do you unmerge a server? Is there a support article on this? I looked in the manual and tried detaching from the web interface but the option is greyed out.

If you selected the offline server, the option to Detach from the System will be greyed out:
However, if you select the other Server in the system, which is offline, you can detach it:
