    this is still an issue. Im also having issues with gid mapping on the storage. We have just updated the storage OS so I will test again in the next few days

    I noticed you mentioned NFS. Please be aware that the VMS does not support NFS, but instead supports SMB for external storage. For Ubuntu, the recommended file systems are either EXT4 or ZFS. Considering the volume of storage and the number of servers involved, ZFS is likely the better choice in this case.
