Plugin Diagnostic Event on Axis Camera
AnsweredI'm getting a Plugin Diagnostic Event from an Axis M2036-LE that says:
Issue with Analytics Plugin Detected:
Plugin is processing incoming frames too slowly. Technical details: DeviceAgent for [CameraName] of Engine of Axis: Frame queue overflow, skipped 1 frame(s)Axis
There are more of the same model cameras on the system that aren't seeing this message. Any idea what might be causing this kind of event notification this one camera? These cameras are all running across a wireless bridge if that matters.
The weird thing to me is that these cameras aren't running any special analytics (like object or tag detection) on the camera that might make use of an analytics plugin. Unless that applies to general motion detection recording.

Hi Jeff Jones,
I hope you’re doing well! I noticed that this topic hasn’t received any engagement from the community yet, and I wanted to check in with you. Is the issue you mentioned still relevant or something you’re looking to resolve?
Best regards.

Hi Jeff Jones,
Skipping a single frame doesn’t seem particularly concerning, but it’s definitely worth keeping an eye on.
As you mentioned, it could be related to a slowdown in the connection, causing a queue to build up and release all at once. When this happens, the plugin might struggle to process everything in time, potentially due to CPU or RAM limitations. While adding more RAM might help as a workaround, it would likely be more effective to focus on improving the performance of the connection itself.
That said, skipping one frame is relatively minor, and as long as the remaining frames are processed correctly, there shouldn't be any noticeable impact.
Best regards.
