License activation HTTP error
AnsweredHey everyone,
When I click on activate free license, the error message displayed is " HTTP error has occured during license activation: 0 "
However I do have an unused time license (4 cameras for 30 days available etc). Are you able to provide ideas on how to solve this?
I am running the nx witness server (latest) on a windows VM on a synolgy 923+.
Any help appreciated.

Hi Peter,
Most likely, the connection to our license server is blocked.
Please check if your server application can connect to the outside world without issues.Ps. Please note that VM's on a Synology NAS aren't officially supported, and an issue might occur, and we might not be able to resolve them if they can't be reproduced on a supported platform.

Thanks for letting me know Norman - Nx Support .
The VM on the synology can access the web without any issue issues. I'm not sure how to test the if the nx witness server can access the outside word...? The nx witness server is unable to connect to Nx Cloud (attached screenshot does not progress when click connect - yes the password is correct because when we enter a wrong password it responds, notifying wrong password).
Can anyone provide any guidance? Once I get these cameras setup - I will be setting up at least 6 cameras at home with Nx.

Hi Peter,
Nice challenge.
To be sure nothing was wrong on our side, I just tried to reproduce the issue, but I 'failed´.
I was able to connect a local system to the Nx Cloud, through the WebAdmin without any issues. At the bottom of THIS support article, you'll find a Python script. If you run this script on your VM where the Nx mediaserver is installed, the results should all show as OPEN, if some or all are CLOSED, the server cannot connect to our Nx Cloud for some reason, typically a network configuration.
Also, if you open the Developer tools (typically Ctrl+Shift+I) of your browser, and select the Network tab, you'll be able to see the responses. Typically, these should all show as 200, not 40x, and definitely not 50x.

Thankyou Norman - Nx Support.
I have solved the problem. For reference and for others googling in the future. My solution was a AWS security certificate failing to be trusted.
Upon checking the logs in the NX witness server I found the issue. Followed the web link located in the log, exported that certificate, and then imported that into the windows VM.
After that I was able to activate the trial license and connect the server to the nx cloud. I had previously tried disabling firewall and importing the nx witness certificate into windows. But the log file was the info that helped find the issue.
Thankyou for the great support Norman!
