Possible to Access Test Camera RTSP from Outside of NX Platform?
AnsweredHello NetworkOptix Dev Team - I was hoping to make use of the test camera utility outside of the Nx platform. Specifically, I have a need for a lightweight RTSP utility that can stream an mp4 video file continuously, to be consumed by a separate RTSP client inside of Linux firmware. I have been able to get test camera to stream the mp4 of interest, and it shows up in the Nx Witness Client perfectly. However, I am unable to connect to that stream from my Linux RTSP client. I have had some success with VLC acting as an RTSP server for video files, but it tends to require substantially more processing power than the test camera utility. Is it possible to access the RTSP stream from the test camera utility outside of the Nx platform? Thanks!

Hi Doug Coulter,
Thanks for your questions.
Unfortunately, currently the IP Camera emulator is for Nx mediaserver. We don't support to stream out to external endpoints at the moment.
As an alternative, you are suggested use the RTSP (restroom) API from Nx meidaserver, I think that would be a possible way. Meaning that you can add the emulator to an Nx mediaserver, and use the Nx server as the RTSP source for your firmware.Thanks.
