Raspberry Pi Storage issue
AnsweredHello,
I'm trying to build an NVR on a Raspberry Pi, everything is working fine except the storage. I connected an external HDD via USB adapter. I can see the disk in the NX witness client, but I can't save anything to it. It is "Inaccesible". Any advice ?

Hi Dominik, can you access the drive via the operating system? Can you write data to the drive? What is the size of the drive?

Hi Dominik Bulejko,
I assume you didn't mount the drive yet and/or didn't enable USB external storage yet?0 -
Hi,
First issue was fixed , but the another one is there. I cant change store for "Stores analytics and motion data"

Hi Dominik Bulejko,
That is expected. You can't store analytics data on a USB drive.

Not directly related to your question..but sharing some personal experience with the raspberry pi. While they are great little computers for certain tasks, the rising costs and availability over the last few years started to make me question which situations they should be used. Once you start to outfit a pi with various accessories, case, fan, storage etc the cost can add up. For a small NVR, have you considered some of the n100 x86 based mini computers that are available from a variety of sources online? you might have an easier time with one of those given the number of ports and configurations available.

Hi Dominik Bulejko,
I just verified this with our Server Team, and the behavior was changed.
The Server application will do a SQL driver check, and if passed, it will allow USB storage to be available for the analytics storage.I also created an internal task to update our documentation for this change.
