Record to local server, play back from cloud?
AnsweredI have a site with a somewhat slow and unreliable internet connection, so all cameras record to a Wave / Nx server on the local network. I need to access some of the cameras off site through the Wave client, but video playback loads slowly when I try to view from that on-site server. Is there a way to sync footage from the on-site server to a cloud-hosted server, and then watch the video on-demand from that cloud server?
1. If I configure the cloud server as the backup location, will it play video from the backup? Or does it always try to play from the primary?
2. If I set the primary storage to the cloud server and the backup storage to the on-site server, and the Internet connection goes down temporarily (like 45 seconds), will it save everything to the backup storage? Or is the backup only made it the footage was written to the primary first? (Also, in this configuration, would it first send the footage off site and then sync it back on site, thus requiring twice as much bandwidth?)

Hi Greg Akselrod,
Unfortunately, at this moment, I don't have a sensible solution for a slow and unreliable internet connection. However, we will offer cloud storage in the future, which should resolve most of the issues in your case.
Regarding your questions:
- The client will always try to connect to the primary storage. When the primary storage isn't for the client, it will automatically connect to the backup storage.
- Backups are only made if the footage is written to the primary storage first. We have the failover feature to assure data is written if one server becomes unavailable for the cameras.
Best regards.
