Sonicwall NAT and Cloud connection issue.
AnsweredI've come across this issue recently after upgrading to v5.
When a client connects to the server over the cloud, the live streams are slow and stuttering. Also, slow and stuttering when viewing playback.
When connecting directly via port forwarding, the issue is not present.
When connecting locally in the lan, the issue is not present.
Only connection through the cloud has an issue.
The server is behind a sonicwall.
After extensive troubleshooting, I found a setting on the sonicwall that resolved the issue and wanted to share it here if anyone else is having this issue and/or if someone could explain why the issue got resolved with this setting. I don't exactly understand.
Network > Voip > Settings > Enable Consistent NAT
From what I understand it tells the the firewall to retain the same port mapping for the persistent connection to the cloud. But I don't understand why when disabled it causes stuttering in the stream.

Thanks for this great share and appreciate your tests.
I have checked with the backend developers - The Consistent NAT is one of the options of reserving ports on the NAT. AFAIK, it may have less impact on the bandwidth, so likely the Consisten NAT on the firewall might have some other actions or other issues lead to the result. The best way to investigate slow connection could be that your IT helps to establish port forwarding temporarily and test video via direct TCP connection via forwarded port.Thanks.
