Installation of nx witness client causes explorer.exe to crash in a loop on Windows 11 machine

Hey everybody,

I have a really strange issue regarding the NX Witness Client on a Windows 11 machine. Directly after installation, !BEFORE! starting the nx client the explorer.exe crashes and keeps crashing. The only way to fix it was to restore windows to a point before the installation.

After looking into the event log the message that shows up is:

I have tried SFC /scannow, checkdisc, updating windows, uninstalling+updating display drivers, disconnected monitors etc., but without any luck. I have also tried installing an older version (5.0), but the same issue occurrs. On other windows 11 machines the client works without any problems.

Does anybody have any idea why this is happening or what I can try?
