NX Witness resource monitoring
AnsweredHello. I know that there is integrated monitoring included in witness where it can show current utilization of network, memory, cpu etc.
We are testing some additional data collection (NetData / prometheus) on servers to enhance monitoring and alerting. These probes can monitor most aspects of Ubuntu server. Speaking strictly from the NX side, what is considered best practices when it comes to resource utilization or trends for running a trouble free nx witness server?
e.g. memory utilization below 80%, CPU below 90%, network traffic, HDD stats etc...
The overall objective is to stay ahead of any unforeseen issues but also to have a better understanding of existing deployments to make smarter and more resource efficient hardware decisions for future projects.
Thank you

Hi Doug,
In our Nx Cloud Client and the Nx WebAdmin Client information pages, we have set a threshold for the various components of 90% load for the VMS application specifically, or a slightly higher threshold of 95% for the overall system load. These thresholds are carefully chosen to strike a balance between preemptive alerting and avoiding unnecessary alarms for minor fluctuations.
